Caregiver’s Course - Care for the Elderly

PCA offers a training programme conducted by experienced registered nurses to equip you and your caregiver with the basic skills in caring for the elderly.

If you are a caregiver or employer of a caregiver, this training programme will enhance your ability and improve your caregiver’s skills in providing excellent care to your loved ones.

Unit 1 – Hygiene and grooming

1. Cleaning of mouth and dentures
2. Bed bathing
3. Assisted Bath
4. Dressing and grooming
5. Changing of bedlinen
6. Skin and foot care

Unit 2 – Waste handling

1. Use of diapers
2. Use of urinals and bedpans
3. Care of urine bag

Unit 3 - Safety

1. Safe lifting, positioning and turning
2. Use of mobility aids
3. Care of pressure areas
4. Falls precautions and prevention of accidents
5. Safe administration of medication

Unit 4- Feeding

1. Preparation of feeds
2. Types of feeds
3. Feeding tips
4. Tube feeding

All domestic helpers & care-givers of elderly.
